This village complex is particularly recognised for its architectural style as well as the other villages around. Makrinitsa also preserves remarkable historical memories such as the old and famous custom of May's -a series of reproductive presentation which originated in ancient Dionisian ceremonies. If you are lucky enough to be in Makrinitsa during the «Mays» days you can enjoy yourself by taking part in those traditional celebrations.
